We have an entire marketing department. Our philosophy to marketing can be summed up in a few simple words. "Direct Response Marketing" Our clients are small businesses. Small businesses CAN NOT advertise the same way a large company can.
Differences:
With a large company, an advertiser can advertise to gain name recognition. Think about these words, "Coke", "Verizon", "Toyota". You know who those companies are, and what they sell. These companies spend Millions of dollars a year, just to get their name out there. If they don't get a direct response (customer) from a paticular advertising medium, it does not matter. They only care about the number of impressions they hit the consumer with, so that when the consumer does need to buy, that consumer thinks of the advertiser's name.
With a small business, IT DOES NOT WORK. You as a small advertiser, will NEVER have the millions of marketing dollars to spend money this way. You will even be told by salesperson trying to sell their advertising to you, that you need to advertise 20, 50, or even 100 times with them before the business comes in to you (name recognition advertising). Don't buy into this. This will NEVER pay off for you. The only marketing that has proven to work is "DIRECT RESPONSE MARKETING (DRM)". With DRM the objective is that every ad put out in every medium, will bring in a profit. If it doesn't, something is not going right and needs to be adjusted.
